Why it is time for every Arsenal fan to back Mikel Arteta
Remember who you are and what you represent…. Rocky
When Mikel Arteta joined as manager, Arsenal were struggling to keep its head above water after Unai Emery's reign had come to a disappointing end, missing out on top 4 and getting embarrassed by Chelsea in Emery's specialist tournament, the Europa League final. The mood surrounding the club was sombre, the disconnect between the players and the fanbase was evident to see and a squad stacked with mediocre players who flattered to deceive under Emery.
Trusting The Process
The board took a chance on a rookie manager who had been doing his apprenticeship with Pep Guardiola but had a clear vision for where he wanted to take the club and raise the quality and standards to be set at this club going forward.
The style of football that he wanted to play was clear and soon began stamping his authority on the team to deliver the required "non negotiables" which led to victories against Man City and Chelsea to win the FA Cup. Aubameyang in particular was thriving under the new manager, even signing a new deal at his peak which after so many years of losing our star players to rivals was a refreshing change of direction for the club and fanbase alike.
Five years later and Arteta has revived this sleeping giant club and given us, as fans, our culture and optimism back. This has been achieved through his relentless hard work, innovative ideas and his "non negotiables" approach. This has got to a point where finishing second in the league three years in a row and losing in semi finals of the much coveted champions league is now deemed a failure.
World Class Recruitment
Rarely is Mikel credited on having such a huge influence on our club, managing to sign the world's elite players because of his influence and vision for them that he manages to entice them with. Yet still sections of this fanbase not only doubt but even insist on him needing to leave to go forward!
It was only ever Arsenal.

Despite witnessing clubs who have pulled the trigger and sacked their managers and now are looking back in hindsight with the old phrase be careful what you wish for ringing in their ears.
Make no mistake about it, I believe there are things Arteta and his coaching staff can do better to set up for certain games and make the necessary in game adjustments to get us over that line. However, rewind 6 years and I don't believe there are many fans who could have dreamt we would be in the position we are now.
Watching us beating the best clubs in the premier league and even Europe watching world class players every week such as Saliba, Gabriel, Timber, Zubimendi, Rice, Odegaard, Saka, Gyokeres and now bringing home Eze from under the noses of the old enemy whilst promoting youth from the best academy in the league. These players play for this manager and the club he has made them fall in love with… let’s all as a fanbase show us how much we appreciate and back him to bring us home the big prizes once again!
Victory through harmony.
